The 10 Highest-Paying Work-From-Home Jobs

The 10 Highest-Paying Work-From-Home Jobs
By: Laura Shin

Most likely, the phrase “C-suite” conjures an image of a suited executive in a sprawling office with an incredible view.
And most likely, the phrase “work from home” calls to mind the picture of a pajama-clad person staring at a laptop while lounging on the couch.
But surprisingly, many high-powered and lucrative positions are also flexible. That’s because the majority of businesses are small to midsize. Ninety-nine percent of companies have fewer than 1,000 employees, according to Payscale, the salary and career site, which conducted a study with FlexJobs, which lists telecommuting and flexible opportunities.
FlexJobs compared real job listings in its database with compensation data in Payscale’s to determine which at-home positions are likely to offer the highest wages.
The jobs listed below are real full-time telecommuting opportunities in Flex Jobs and the salary averages are provided by PayScale for similar job titles, though the size of the company will mostly drive the pay of C-level executives.

“A common misconception is that work-from-home jobs pay nowhere near traditional jobs,” said Sara Sutton Fell, CEO of FlexJobs. “However, we’ve found the compensation and benefits offered with work from home jobs to be comparable with similar in-office positions. For example, one of the best parts about telecommuting is that job-seekers can broaden the geographic area of their job search. This means that they can find work from home jobs that offer similar, and sometimes even better, salary and benefits than the job-seeker can find in their local market.”

According to the most recent Census report, “the number of people who worked at home at least one day per week increased from 9.5 million in 1999 to 13.4 million in 2010.” Additionally, Global Workplace Analytics reports the number of people who work from home will grow by 21% by 2016.

According to their analysis, below are the 10 highest paying telecommuting jobs. Also be sure to check out the top 100 companies offering work-from-home opportunities and the 20 most common telecommuting jobs.
