The Joliet Job Corps Center seeks the positions below.  Our campus is located in Joliet, IL right off I-80 at the Briggs road exit.  The Center offers both residential and non-residential options in career skills, academic and vocational training for young adults from 16-24 years old.

Food Service Assistant

POSITION SUMMARY: Ensures that food, supplies and equipment are available as needed and stored properly when not in use. Responsible for assisting in the preparation of food for meals. Provides kitchen clean-up to facilitate sanitizing of all food service areas.

QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE: High School Diploma or equivalent required. Advanced degrees preferred. Experience in a food services operation desired. Ability to obtain local Food Handling/Health Certification required. Physical requirements include sitting, standing, climbing, walking, lifting, pulling and/or pushing, carrying, reaching, stooping and crouching. Demonstrates the ability to lift 40 pounds and / or the ability to assess the lift load in order to ask for necessary assistance.

MANAGEMENT AND SUPERVISION: May supervise Job Corps’ Work-Based Learning and Leisure Time Student employees.

Clerk

POSITION SUMMARY: Provides clerical support for department’s supervisor. This position is responsible, with minimum supervision, to perform a variety of clerical duties that are related to the work of the supervisor, requiring knowledge of office routine and procedures. This individual will also interact with management on a day-to-day basis, handling confidential documents and materials. Will be required to take on special projects and provide technical support to other departments as needed.

QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE: High School diploma or equivalent required with 1 to 3 years clerical experience. Degree or certification from an accredited or relevant certified training program. Advanced degrees preferred. Duties require professional verbal and written communication skills. Computer literacy and proficiency in Microsoft Suite of applications is required.

MANAGEMENT AND SUPERVISION: N/A

CPP Instructor

POSITION SUMMARY:
Responsible for providing instruction and training to students during the Career Preparation Program. Develops individual achievement plans, evaluates progress to ensure student early retention and success in the program.

QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE:
Bachelor’s degree from an accredited school required. Must possess a valid in-state Driver’s License and meet the Company insurability requirements.

MANAGEMENT AND SUPERVISION:
Provides supervision, instruction and training to Job Corps students in assigned classrooms.

Safety Security Advisor

POSITION SUMMARY: Provide a safe and secure living and working environment for students and staff. Assists in the investigation of accidents and incidents with the goal of resolution and reduction of future occurrences.

QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE: High School Diploma or equivalent required. Advanced degrees preferred. Prefer Job Corps or related program experience. Must possess a valid in-State Driver’s License and meet Company insurability requirements. Physical requirements include sitting, standing, climbing, walking, lifting, pulling and/or pushing, carrying, reaching, stooping and crouching. Demonstrates the ability to lift 40 pounds and /or the ability to assess the lift load in order to ask for necessary assistance.

MANAGEMENT AND SUPERVISION: N/A

BCL/CTR Manager

POSITION SUMMARY:
Identifies and develops Center-beneficial partnerships that lead to student benefit and success. Provides transitional support and placement services leading to quality full-time jobs, higher education or advanced training. Ensures strict confidentiality of sensitive information and integrity of student data.

QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE:
Bachelor’s degree required. Master’s degree preferred. A minimum of two years’ experience in program management and direction with a substantial experience working with youth.

MANAGEMENT AND SUPERVISION:
Supervises and manages the Career Transition Department including the CTR/Grad-90 Program. Oversees the Center’s public relations functions.

Residential Advisor

POSITION SUMMARY: Responsible for working with Residential team to provide students on respective dormitory with a safe, clean and structured living environment that fosters student retention, satisfaction, achievement and success. Provides individualized case management to maintain student enrollment and success in the program.

QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE: High School Diploma or equivalent required. Advanced degrees preferred. A minimum of one year Job Corps or related program experience required. A valid in-State Driver’s License preferred. Physical requirements include sitting, standing, climbing, walking, lifting, pulling and/or pushing, carrying, reaching, stooping and crouching. Demonstrates the ability to lift 40 pounds and / or the ability to assess the lift load in order to ask for necessary assistance.

MANAGEMENT AND SUPERVISION: N/A

Assistant Cook

POSITION SUMMARY: Responsible for assisting in the preparation of food and beverages for consumption by students. Assists in kitchen clean-up to facilitate sanitizing of all food service areas.

QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE: High School Diploma or equivalent required. Advanced degrees preferred. Prefer previous experience in food service. Must be able to obtain ServeSafe credentials. Physical requirements include sitting, standing, climbing, walking, lifting, pulling and/or pushing, carrying, reaching, stooping and crouching. Demonstrates the ability to lift 40 pounds and / or the ability to assess the lift load in order to ask for necessary assistance.

MANAGEMENT AND SUPERVISION: May provide supervision and training to Job Corps’ Work-Based Learning students.

LPN

POSITION SUMMARY: Responsible to provide preventative and emergency health services and wellness education to students. Evaluates, determines and recommends appropriate medical, mental health and dental services for student population. Ensures confidentiality of sensitive information and compliance with all HIPAA laws.

QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE: High School Diploma or equivalent required. LPN Certification from an accredited program and a valid in-state license to practice as an LPN. A minimum of one year of health care experience preferred.

MANAGEMENT AND SUPERVISION: May supervise and manage Wellness staff. May serve as Acting Wellness Manager in Wellness Manager’s absence where allowed by State Law.


CSIO Officer

POSITION SUMMARY:
Responsible for the management of the Center discipline, recognition and incentive program for students.  Analyzes Center’s student discipline and incentive program and uses proper judgment and discretion to resolve issues and problems.  Ensures strict confidentiality of sensitive information and integrity of student data.  
QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE:
High School diploma or equivalent required.  Associate’s degree from an accredited school preferred.  A minimum of one year experience in Job Corps or related residential youth program required.  Must possess a valid in-State Driver’s License and meet Company insurability requirements.  

Physical requirements include sitting, standing, climbing, walking, lifting, pulling and/or pushing, carrying, reaching, stooping and crouching.  Demonstrates the ability to lift 40 pounds and / or the ability to assess the lift load in order to ask for necessary assistance.
MANAGEMENT AND SUPERVISION:
Site specific supervision and management of staff. May assume Acting CSIO Supervisor position. 

Academic Instructor

POSITION SUMMARY: Responsible for providing instruction and training to students in the Career Education Center. Develops individual achievement plans and academic goals to ensure student academic achievement in the program. Works with the CTT Instructors to infuse applied academics into CTT curricula to enhance student learning and success. Ensures strict confidentiality of sensitive information and integrity of student data.

QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE: Bachelor’s degree from an accredited school required. Master’s degree preferred. A valid in-state teaching certificate or waiver required. Previous teaching or Job Corps experience preferred.

MANAGEMENT AND SUPERVISION: N/A

Recreation Specialist (Part Time)
POSITION SUMMARY:
Responsible for working with Recreation team to provide students with a comprehensive and diverse recreation program. Promotes health and wellness through overseeing the recreation activities as outlined on the approved recreation schedule.
QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE:
High School Diploma or equivalent required.  Associates of Arts Degree or 1 year related experience working with youth. Must possess a valid in-State Driver’s License and meet Company insurability requirements. CDL preferred.

Physical requirements include sitting, standing, climbing, walking, lifting, pulling and/or pushing, carrying, reaching, stooping and crouching.  Demonstrates the ability to lift 40 pounds and / or the ability to assess the lift load in order to ask for necessary assistance.

Pre Press operator:
